Live streaming feed to provide approximately 40 hours of featured group coverage
Second of four LPGA Tour events on ESPN+ this season
Part of two-year agreement with ESPN
CLIFTON, New Jersey, May 2, 2024 – ESPN+ will stream featured group coverage of the LPGA’s Cognizant Founders Cup tournament, which celebrates the 13 Founding Members of the LPGA. Fans will be able to watch around 40 hours of live coverage of the featured groups from approximately 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, May 9, and Friday, May 10, and from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 11, and Sunday, May 12.
The Cognizant Founders Cup on ESPN+ will feature a dedicated featured groups feed, showcasing two featured groups from both the morning and afternoon waves on each tournament day. Viewers can anticipate in-depth commentary and analysis from renowned hosts and analysts, enriching the viewing experience.
Amy Rogers will headline the all-female primary broadcast team alongside analyst Amanda Blumenherst, with on-course reports and live player interviews conducted by Chantel McCabe and Hope Barnett. In addition, building on their contributions during The Chevron Championship featured group broadcasts, No Laying Up will once again provide recurring tournament coverage remotely with Cody McBride and Phil “Big Randy” Landes delivering engaging and insightful commentary on the action.
The Cognizant Founders Cup on ESPN+ is part of a two-year deal announced in November 2023 in which ESPN+ will present live featured group coverage of eight LPGA Tour tournaments through the 2025 season. The first event under the new agreement was the 2023 CME Group Tour Championship last fall. The Cognizant Founders Cup next week is the second of four LPGA Tour events on ESPN+ this season, following The Chevron Championship.
This latest deal continues a longstanding relationship between the LPGA Tour and ESPN.
- In 2022, ESPN+ streamed the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G and the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G.
- ESPN televised a schedule of regular LPGA Tour events from 1979-2009, and ABC covered the CME Group Tour Championship from 2015-2018.
- ESPN aired the first two rounds of the AIG British Open from 1982-2002 and all four rounds from 2010-2015, as well as the first two rounds of the U.S. Women’s Open from 1982-2014.
- The first golf ever televised on ESPN was the LPGA Sahara Open on Sept. 8, 1979, ESPN’s second day on air.
The pairings for featured groups at the Cognizant Founders Cup will be announced on Tuesday, May 7, when pairings and tee times are finalized.
This marks the 13th edition of the Cognizant Founders Cup and the third held at Upper Montclair Country Club. The event boasts a prestigious list of past champions, representing the best of the best on the LPGA Tour – past winners have accumulated 30 major victories and 142 LPGA Tour victories, with every previous Cognizant Founders Cup winner also being a major champion.
